endurance thy name is durable cotton regular shorts

After several years of hard wear both while cycling and traveling, my shorts are still going very strong indeed, and they're easily the best "technical-casual" shorts I've ever worn. I use them for everything short of athletic rides that beg for chamois, and in addition to standing up to the friction of the saddle, the fabric has bounced back from all kinds of travel stains. I don't think this is a criticism, exactly, but my shorts have pockets made of a mesh material that proved vulnerable to my keys - I sewed up the resulting hole. I imagine the mesh is there for good reason, though. If there are any of these left in your size, I recommend snagging them while you can. I also own two pairs of swrve shorts from years earlier (perhaps 2014) that are still going strong, thanks to swrve's garment repair service, so I have hopes that this pair will last a long time, too.

Durable shorts

Shorts are constructed of a heavy-duty material and are incredibly durable. Material requires breaking in, and it seems that the shorts design has altered slightly from previous years making them a bit longer and wider in the leg.

These shorts don't wear out. You can only mortally wound them.

Durable Cotton Shorts have been my all-around go-to shorts since they were first released back in 2013 or so. I recently picked up my third pair of Durable Cotton shorts to keep as my "nice" shorts but the previous pairs I've purchased over the years are still ticking and remain in use. Pair 1 - Purchased 2013: Met an untimely demise after a run-in with a rusty nail while cleaning a garage. While the shorts may have ripped, I like to think they took one for the team. Somehow I managed not to get cut and avoided a trip to the ER for a tetanus shot so I'll chalk that up as a win. The nail left behind a dime-sized hole in the mid-thigh that I never bothered to repair and my laziness has been rewarded because in the hole hasn't gotten any bigger after four more years of use. I still use these shorts for work around the house and hiking/biking and trips to the hardware store. Pair 2 - Purchased 2016: These shorts were added to the rotation as the replacement for the torn shorts, kinda like when Kirk and the gang got a new Enterprise at the end of that Star Trek movie with the whales in it. I'd need to summon Carl Sagan from the afterlife to quantify how many thousands of hours I've worn these shorts for any and every activity. They're still holding up great but are starting to finally show some signs of wear. They still look good enough for a night out with the guys biking from bar to bar but not so much for any formal outdoor activities which is why... Pair 3 - Purchased 2020: Needed a "nice" pair of shorts for an outdoor event that was on the dressy side and didn't have to think more than two seconds about which shorts to get. My latest pair of Durable Cotton shorts have been added to my wardrobe as my formal pair of shorts so knowing how long that take to wear out, I won't be surprised if these are still looking new well into the back half of the 2020s.

The most comfortable shorts to ride in and then some

Love these for everything. I commute to work and then can wear them all day long. They look great good length (im 6'4") and if im being honest dont look like cycling shorts. I think that is one of the reasons I love the SWRVE products so much, function without sacrificing style.

Excellent for biking. Best bike tour shorts

I have owned several pairs of Swrve shorts, and they have all proven to be super duper durable despite riding hundreds of miles a week for commuting and recreation. They are also my go-to for bike touring. I have worn them on trips from 2 days to 2 months. They are also classy enough to wear to work or social events. This is when the zippered pocket and pen pocket are useful. The right side rear pocket is perfect for modern smart phones (Moto G7 in my case). The cotton shorts are a little stiff out of the box, but have a very casual and comfortable feel after a few washes. Compared to the lightweight, they also feel more durable. Take a little longer to dry. My #1 short for everything from the trail to downtown!
